About the Therapist

Leandra Wills is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, MFC #48557 (CA), MFT.0001780 (CO).

Leandra provides psychotherapy to individuals, children, couples, and families in a private practice setting. She received her Masters degree in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego, California. She received her BA from Point Loma Nazarene University in Graphic Communications. Before becoming a therapist, she worked in Advertising. Always intrigued by the way art was healing for herself and other people, she decided to pursue another art form -- psychotherapy. She has gained extensive hours and experience working with patients in hospitals, outpatient clinics, as well as home-based and school settings. She had a private practice in Manhattan Beach, CA before opening her practice in beautiful Boulder, CO.

As an artist and psychotherapist, she has a wide variety of skills and services to offer clients, including incorporating art modalities as a way to work out underlying issues, such as bereavement, loss, trauma, life transitions, medical illness, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and relational difficulties. Leandra has extensive experience working with children and families, especially in the areas of art and play therapy, as well as facilitating parenting discussion groups.

She has also worked with many female clients, focusing on women’s issues, such as life transitions in adolescence, young adulthood, postpartum depression, and menopause. Leandra is interested in focusing on early attachment after the birth of a child and helping to create a healthy and secure parent-baby bonding by helping families increase their coping skills and address postpartum symptoms. She is also very experienced in life-transition support and life coaching, including career and image consulting. Leandra uses a strength-based and solution-focused approach while offering straightforward cognitive-behavior interventions for short-term therapy. She has a systems approach when working with individuals and families and enlists many different supportive networks to wrap around and provide a whole-body-mind approach to treatment.
